FRANCOPHONIE IN QUESTION 3

Closure of the thirteenth summit of the Francophonie

The XIII Summit of la Francophonie ended Sunday, October 24 at Montreux . In his report, the signing of a Declaration Montreux and the deposit of nine resolutions. Five new observer countries, the Estonia, the Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Montenegro, the Dominican Republic and UAE were welcomed to the OIF.
The Summit also reiterated Mr. Abdou Diouf as Secretary General of the OIF and affirmed the holding of the XIV Summit in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2012.
Among the 38 heads of State and Government meeting in Montreux for the XIII Summit of the International La Francophonie (OIF), are many Africans.
reform of global governance is one of the priorities set by the leader of the French State for its presidency of G8 and G20, respectively, from 12 November and 1 January.
Secretary General of La Francophonie, Abdou Diouf, who was re-elected for another term surprised at the summit, called on leaders to OIF more than a "catalyst for ideas informed.
He also advocated " democratization of international relations and multilateralism balanced, which can accommodate longer an under representation of Africa in the bodies where decisions are made which relate directly yet.
" All Francophone Haitians are currently " , Abdou Diouf noted. The country ravaged by the earthquake of January and in recent days faced with cholera has been at the center of attention in Montreux.
" We want to help Haiti to reestablish , insisted the Secretary General. is now geographically and geopolitically, priority priorities Francophonie. "
Everyone from his statement, Mr Sarkozy said in his turn: " Is it normal that there is no permanent member of UN Security Council from Africa? A billion people in thirty years, two billion people who have no permanent representation. It is a scandal . He sought the support of its peers for its forthcoming presidency of the G20?
These are possibly not, in our opinion, these fine statements which will help the Francophone world south of the globe. The real problems of these countries require concrete and clear decisions on subjects that would help their development. One of the major difficulties and concrete of the South is access to food and in this sense, and for international agencies, would it not important to remove food from the sphere of the World Trade?

In this program Haitian writer Lyonel Trouillot paints a clear picture of the situation in his country. On
it is, and in the International Mail , Frantz an article published in the Duval Nouvelliste : http://www.courrierinternational.com/article/2010/10/21/la-francophonie- is-still-a-building
It would be desirable that solidarity become more than just a word in the Francophone world and in the mouths of political and becomes clear and concrete actions for Haiti and Africa. Celebrating
however this Summit, beyond recovery that some are heads of state, continues to defend the French language, of course, but also cultural diversity.
